Williamsbridge is a middle class neighborhood geographically located in the north central Bronx borough of New York City. Historically known as an Old Italian and Jewish neighborhood in the northern Bronx, these days Williamsbridge is bursting with Caribbean and African-American flavors. In the past few decades the area transformed into a vibrant community that is now considered one of the best places in the city to find truly authentic Island cuisine and culture.
Williamsbridge is an area of moderately priced one- and two-family houses. About half a dozen late-19th-century frame cottages remain along the tree-lined streets west of White Plains Road. Expanding population has also placed new pressure on the neighborhood schools. Frustrated by the poor performance of the public schools, many parents send their children to four Roman Catholic schools in the neighborhood. As a community, Williams Bridge remains family-driven and has always seen a high level of participation from the community, whether it is in local schools or places to worship.
Williamsbridge may be rich in history and offer something to do at all times of the day but this neighborhood is not the only thing that doesn’t sleep. Pests find their way into our homes and are active at all times of the day. Whether its rodents or insects, they are unwanted and can wreak havoc if not treated properly.
